Lesley`s Mexico Rotary Youth Exchange

I WENT CAMPING!!!!! I stayed in a cabin, htat actually smelt cabin-ish, cabaña = cabin!! It was soo foggy when we got there that you couldn´t see someone after they ran for about 10 seconds! I went with my friend Kenzie, her host family (mom, dad and brother) and her brothers 2 friends! Thier names were Carlos and José Miguel, his nickname was Pepé the name of my turtle!!! We got to walk around but it got cold inhte night so we went back into the cabin.  We wached the movie The Strangers which i got really scared watching but it was actually quite interesting but made me sad to watch, we then watched The Shinning which must have been a good movie when it first came out but now i wasn´t scared at all.  Still it was interesting to watch. And the boys reminded me of six year old girls! they were always complaining and talkng and wanting and my gosh they are 13!!! they couldn´t get comfortable on how to sleep and had to change thier postions many times! and then they told us , who were quitley watching our movie to shut up (this was in english) and go to our room and sleep (this was in spanish).  We were appauled! One it was only 12 at night and 2 after that they wouldn´t stop telling us to Shut up in english!!  So we took our movie and went to our room and watched the mvie on Kenzie´s laptop.
The next morning we woke up at 8! Because the sun was streaming through the window right into our eyes. But it was amazing outside! All the fog was gone and it was a wonderful bright and sunny day so we went for a walk and wgot to see the lake! They actually called it a lagoon but, as Kenzie told me, it didn´t reach the ocean so it actually wasn´t a lagoon.  Still we got to see some different houses and we got to ride on ATV´s.  We were not allowed to drive them and we weren´t allowed on them for very long because  Kenzie´s host dad is a Rotary Member and he knows the rules! We are not allowed to Drive, Drink, do Drugs, Date, get Dats (tatoos, piercings and what-not), or Download porn.  Those are the 6 D´s we were told about here in Mexico. So we couldn´t drive the ATV´s. 
Anyways turns out we had to leave early cause one of the friends flipped his ATV and is fell on his leg and he told them he felt tired adn that eh thought he broke it so we were freakign out running around packing up and then once we left i saw him adjust howw he sat in his seat and adjust the postion of his legs with out a wince or ANYTHING! so me and Kenzie diagnosed him with Major bruise and nothing more adn we were totally right! He even wennt into emergency adn then he went and got and x-ray. And we were right! and he was pretty much fine walking but he asked for a wheel chair anyways. So we felt that we had gotten worked up over nothing. But we still had a great time!!

Wel lets see i´m actually quite happy! to day i went to a REALLY nice gym! it has a pool(outside), a qym with bikes and weights and other machines, tennis courts, squash courts, a track and the change room is HUGE!!! it also has in the change room a Vapor room!!!!and a massage room (wasn´t open )!! I was in a state of heaven! I am getting a little concious of my self, so i have decided to do more! i´m doing sit-ups at home and eat healthier!  it actually feels really good! i just make sure not to eat junk! and not to eat too much outside of regular meals! no christmas chocolat, no cookies, no JUNK!  I FEEL HEALTHY AND HAPPY!
Also i now know when i shall be leaving on my trip to Cancun on the Rivera Maya! I leave on Febuary 22nd! And the new baby for my new mommy is going to be born on the 8th!
THAT¨S RIGHT!!! I haven´t said anything about my family! Well I am now with a new family! I have a little sister on hte way, a siter of 8 (Karla), and three brothers! Arturo (5), Jorge (17 and on exchange), and Jaime (28)!  My new host dad is a doctor!
I´m sorry for not righting! I´m shall be correcting this!!

Actually htat is a song title by the Guess Who, or is it the Who?  I´m not quite sure. 
But i think my eyes are changing.
I am begining to see things in a differnet way then i would before.  Or mabey i am just begining to care more about how I and the things I do affect others.
Por ejemplo, if i were to to decide that the world is flat and randomly yell that to people on the street what in hte world would that do to people? besides thinking that i am crazy and should be in a hospital. Would some one try and tell me that the world is round?
Or less extreme, what would it do to people if i didn´t talk, or began painting my nails black, would somethin as outside as dark nail polish change peoples views of me?
Would that be so different to people? a Sign that i am becoming something else?

Well i guess i will go over what has happened to me so far. This week i have gone to SIX FLAGS AMUSMENT PARK IN MEXICO CITY!!!!  Heck yes!!! That was amazing! I went on Batman, superman, vodo, kila-somthing-or-another (can´t quite remember the name), medusa and splash! I did splash and super man twice but now i´m sick from doing the splash! I cough like a dog I realize. Woof.  Well the day imidiatley afterwards i went to Puebla and completed all of my papres for my visa!!!! yay!!! that wasd exciting and then i went with my host dad and we went shopping for christmas presents for my family!!  i really hope that they love them! I talked with my brother for the first time sinc ei had left for mexico two days ago! that made me really happy since i have always lived with him, it seems kinda wierd that i hadn´t talked with him in 4 months or more. Also i realize i have to curbe my constant wants, they aren´t needs and i do not need to spend more money so i will type this oput and hopefully remember it from now on I MUST SAVE MONEY FOR MORE IMPORTANT THINGS! NOT ME BUT FOR CANCUN!!!! I MUST! I MUST!

Well, so since I haven’t written in my blog for such a VERY long time. I will start with doing a skim of all the things that have happened to me since october second and then I WILL KEEP UP WITH MY BLOG!!!! I PROMISE!!!
Saturday, October, 4th - I went out and bought my costume for halloween! I bought angle wings and a mask and it looks sooo good! I have some photos and i love it! I went to a traditional quinceniara (15th birthday party) yesterday and there were paid dancers and the girl was ina prom/princess dress and it was amazing! the dancing part was really fun too because they gave out masks, balloons,streamers, flags, and glowsticks! There were even two people on stilts in jester costumes!I GOT A PET TURTLE AND HIS NAME IS PEPE! He already went missing once and i love him!!
Monday, October 6th - found an internet cafe where i can go on for an hour and pay 8 pesos. 0.80 cents!!!
Wednesday, October 8th - I was invited to join the school soccer team!! I helped my host parents write a letter okaying thier daughter to open a bank account in germany.
Thursday, october 9th - I had my first soccer game and i was put on defence! I almostkiced somebody in the head! the soccer teams here for girlsare not all that together and do not practice as hard a my soccer team in terrace! (we would totally win if we played my mexico team guys!! )
Friday, october 10th - I got lost shopping! Again!! This is the second time! So i had my first taxi ride which wasn’t actually completely horrible, and i found out later i was one street away from all the streets that i have walked a billion times!!!
saturday, october 11th - Maddy’s Birthday! We had a surprise party for here and i was pushed into her pool! I know!!! We had her surprise party in her pool house!!!! 
friday October 17th - for my costume i had wings, a mask, leggings, a cute white dress, gold high heels, earrings, and it was soo cool!! I went to my schools halloween party!!! I had soo much fun!
Saturday/Sunday October 18th/19th - TEOTEHUACAN TRIP!!!! We went to teotehucan and we saw pyramids and it was soo cool!! I bought a hair clip, necklace, and a cute ring! Alina bought a pink sombrero (i think it is sooo ugly , no offence but pink should not EVER be put with gold and then stuck into a mexican sombrero! Mexico is not a pink thing! it is red i tell you red!!!)
Friday October 24th (3am) to monday morning october 27th (3am) - I went to cervintino andi saw museums and mummies,and a torture house and we went to a few parties and returned and spent about 30 hours on the bus!!!
Wednesday october 29th - Kali’s Birthday! I got her ballons and stuff and we all got together (All the exchange students) and went to eat italian food!!! Then we went to her house (after spanish class) and had pizza cake and popcorn!!
Friday October 31rst - OFRENDAS!!!!! We made our ofrenda thinger (an alter/offering to those who have died)and ours was for a hawian person and i learaned to hawian dance!!! And my class won!!! So we get to go to SIX FLAGS!!! December 3rd is when we goo!!! it will cost us 383 pesos but that gets us to Six Flags on a bus and and pass to all the rides!! I think all we have to pay for is our food!! 
Saturday november, 1rst - Slet over at kali’s hose and we watched Sex in the city!! It was soo good!!  We went and got strawberry cake and choclate and bread and had a party!
Sunday november 2nd - MOMMY AND DADDY CALLED!! YEAH!
Wednesday November 5th - I GOT A LETTER!!
Tuesday november 11th - I got homesick really bad. This si the first time that i have every not been in or at the rememberance day celebrations!!!! I was getig kinda sad and did a whole11 minutes of silence and I called my parents and Nikki.

I GOT MY PACKAGE TODAY!!! i got my pink converse, grey sweats, fudge, a book, my ankle stuff, part of the local newspaper, a t-shirt and a LETTER FROM MY FRIENDS!!!!  I was soo happy! I still am soo happy! I hope to get cards to send to everyone very soon! Thank you soo much to my friends and parents for what they wrote and for sending my package! I loved it and can`t wait to send you a letter in return!

Today I am really happy! I checked my e-mail in my Informatìca class and painted my nails with white out and made them look pretty!  I took a picture to remember. I woke up 2 times last night and was sooo tired today. Also i talked with Mom, Dad, Matt, Aidan, and devin on MSN!  I had a great time chatting to them. AND IF I FIND A GUYS NECKLACE I WILL BUY IT FOR YOU AIDAN! I gave Matt my cell nu,ber annd he called me! I was so happy i was about to cry at first1 we had a nice chat but he`s phone died on him mid way through.

I watched Control Total yesterday ( i think that would be Eagle Eye in CAnada) and at one point the main character has to go to his brothers funeral adn that made me think of my family and almost made me cry in hte movie (Okay so i teared up a bit but i did not totally bawl so it was okay). Today i had a volleyball game and i was really nervous because i didn´t really know what to expect and i hadn´t been practicing with the women because they practiced at night and i had to go to a rotary function on saturday so I only knew one peerson on my team and was soo happy when she came!! my team color is orange and we won our first game!!!  i was soo happy!  And my family came and watched the whole game! After my game the took me to a local spring where you can drink the water straight! No need to filter! It was a natural spring but the water was refreshing especially after volleyball! also something happened with one of my usbs and I almost lost all my pictures! but i was lucky to have a second USB and i saved all of my pisture except a few but i had already put them on facebook. 

I RECIEVEC A LETTER FROM LINA!!!! And i absolutley loved it! i almost started crying but in a happy way not as in an “Iwant to go home” way.  I also recieved two letters from my aunt and uncle who live in scotland but happen to be traveling europe at the moment and they sent me cards from greece and sicily! they sound like they are having tons of fun! 

I left tehuacan today to go to puebla.  the first part of my trip to Las Estacas!  Karoline had come down with a stomach illness so we were all happy to see her when she showed up at the bus staion. A rotarian gave us our tickets and money to buys ticket to come back once we got to Puebla.  I was seated beside allina and we had a blast listening to music and taking pictures and talking.  It was soo fun!  Alina had lent me her book called “How to Be Canadian” and i can´t wait to get started on it! 
Once off of the bus we met with a few peope who lead us to a bigger gropup of exchange students and families!  Me and Laura were paired up to be staying together at a rotarians house.  The father told us we might want to sleep but both me and Laura wanted to get out and do something.  One of the fathers daughters came home and invited us to go bowlin gwith her and her friends and we happily agreed!  We doidn´t get home until about 1am and then we talked for 2 hours or more!  We had to wake up the next day at 4:30 to be ready to go by 5:30 so we went to sleep.
